CSTP Growth and DevelopmentAs teachers, there is always opportunities for growth and development, no matter what year we are in. My goal was to always find ways to develop and modify the material keeping in mind the needs of my students in the classroom. This would not only help me grow as a teacher, but provide more support for my students.

What are your areas of strength? After these two years, my area of strength is creating a positive learning environment for my students. I know that every student learns in their own way and by me facilitating the material in an environment where they all feel welcomed is huge step in their educational path.
|
Where are you opportunities for continuous improvement? One area where there is continuous improvement is engaging all students. There are so many new applications and strategies to improve engagement every day that we can all take advantage of and embed into our classrooms.

How have you changed? |
What are you most proud of? |
Throughout the year, I realized that there is so much more to teaching than simply standing up in front the the students and teaching the material. We have to get to know our kids. We have to show compassion and understanding. We never know what is going on in their personal lives and we may be their support system as well. Knowing who we have in class teaches us so much, not only about them, but about the way they learn.

I am so proud of the teacher I am becoming. I learn so much when I go to work, not only from my fellow teachers, but also from my students. I get to implement so many fun activities into the classroom that I never thought they would like. New technology shows up at our door everyday and all we have to do is try it out. Many of these applications are so helpful in the classroom and I know I still have so much to learn.
